MaryHen
OK - I know I am being very impatient but I want an egg. I picked my ladies up last Friday afternoon, they are POL but sure on the exact week old. I'm constantly looking at there wattles, comb and faces for redness and keep stroking their backs to see for the 'crouch'. the suspense is killing me!! MaryHen
OMG Cat tails how have you waited since May. I had a good talk to the girls last night and said 'no layey, no stayey'!!...which is completely untrue as I love them so much it would nt bother me if they didnt lay!! Purplemaniacs
'no layey, no stayey'!!... In the past some Omleteers have threatened their chooks with the roasting tin. Do they look like they may lay soon? Chrissie
SueChick
Hi - I know how you feel! I got my two new ladies on 30th May and one has been laying for a couple of weeks now - albeit tiny little ones but the other one is not laying yet! They are apparently the same age but I guess different breeds mature at different paces! She did croch for the first time this week though and her face is definitely redder but still no egg as yet. I am very impatient as she is my blue egg layer!!!
MaryHen
My Boss said I should say 'no Eggey, ring necky'!! Of course, I wouldnt say that to my girls! Grizelda is definitely getting a redder face, wattle etc by the day My husband who is away during the week really noticed a difference when he saw them last night. They arent crouching, so I guess not ready yet! I'll try and get some pictures uploaded to post.
jesschicken24
I'm still waiting too. I even had my first dream about my chickens last night and that was about laying eggs. I think that officially makes me a crazy chicken person now!
Cat tails
I got my ladies at 12 weeks, so I knew I was in for a bit of waiting. I'm currently threatening Ginger with the barbeque is she doesn's shut her squawking beak at 6 in the morning...
