gavclojak
My ex commercial girls are now are around 2 3/4 years olds and have virtually stopped laying, are they still ok on layers pellets or should I change the feed?
Mrs Webmuppet
My oldies have layers pellets.
Beantree
We give our non-layers rearers pellets, but they are a bit more expensive. Slightly more protein in them usually and less Calcium, which they don't need if they are not laying. Probably not worth bothering really and stick to the layers, because changing their feed can bring on problems.
The Dogmother
I'd just keep them on layers TBH; I have several elderly freeloaders, and they just eat the same as the others.
gavclojak
Freeloaders....haha I love that!! That's just what my girls have turned in to....no eggs now for weeks!! Don't expect any to be fair!
mollyripkim
Same here, out of my group of 10 bantams I am lucky to get four eggs a day but then half of them are oldies now enjoying retirement.
