Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Brand new chicken woman, two girls, had them a month now. Rita has been laying for a week, Bette laid her first two days ago...proud mum. She laid her second today and it's brought tears to my eyes!

Is it normal for eggs to be such varying sizes?

Ouch! Poor Bette. I guess eggs do enlarge as hens mature, but that's quite a jump in size between numbers 1 and 2!

I think you will find that is a double yolker

This sometimes happens at first when they are practising .make the most of them they are wonderful.

I've had a double yoker from Grizzie every week since she started laying!!
