Beantree
Pobble has the genuine Marans feet Chickabee, but the copper ruff around her neck isn't in the photos. A lovely looking hen. Our Copper Marans is in laying as I type. She started at 28 weeks and her eggs are up from 52 grammes to just over 60 in three weeks. Breed standard egg weight is 75 -80 grammes so she has a long way to go yet.
Chickabee
Your right Beantree, she's not a proper copper black. Her brother had stunning markings. I think she's a Black throw back. She has a beautiful peacock like sheen. She looks ready to lay, but I'm not holding my breath. Hope her eggs are nice and dark. Will look lovely on my egg rack. I'll have brown, white, greeny blue, blue, darker brown and really dark brown. Plus lots of bantam eggs. Don't know what colour the Silkie cross welsummer will lay. May even be in a new house by then and might take some advice about getting a cockerel . Lots of land and outbuildings. Heaven Will also be getting some ducks as house has a pond, fingers crossed it all goes through

PixieDust
They are both absolutely stunning. I think there is French Maran in her and as others have mentioned, no copper, but, hey - WTH, she's lovely!
