Valkyrie
So Upham it is then. They were keeping that quiet yesterday. It would be handy to know if the birds are free range or never see the light of day ones.
miller30
I'm in Hampshire and upham is about 9 miles from me 15 mins by car so not far I go there sometimes i'm not worried about it what's the point in worrying if they get it they get it it's a very low strain I think the media like to worry people. I'm registered with defra so I think if they were really worried me and a lot of friends would have been contacted in these text alerts your suppose to get leanne
Valkyrie
Yup, it's quite a way from us so I wasn't going to worry until I saw it spreading up. But if you haven't been contacted and just a short trip away, I guess it isn't urgent. Yes, the media have a lot to answer for with scaremongering and not just for this. On the other hand I guess they did get the report actually correct for once instead of making it up as they go along! The Ebola situation seems to have gone quiet too, so they are looking for something else - it's usually old folk like my mum. I'm surprised she hasn't called me to ask me what I'm doing with my girls!
PixieDust
Three people now tested negative for bird flu.
The Dogmother
It's avian flu season You always get the jokers asking when you're going to wring your birds' necks Ill informed and ignorant, think they're smart. Just make sure that you're well informed, know which zone you are in if it's nearby, and get your birds under cover if needs be.
