Bratz and Barbie makeover

Recommended Posts

Saw that on FB and thought how nice the children actually prefer the makeover dolls. Plenty of time for make up - let children be children. Besides if they want to plaster the make up on then no worries. Er, I tattooed one of my dolls. I think I was influenced by Popeye cartoons! Unfortunately biro never washed off - and I still have her! Was always a teddy girl not into dolls.

That is so sweet and quite magical. I'm very keen for young girls/women to value themselves for how they are and not be celebrity makeovers and this is great. We ran mixed-sex cubs and scouts and loved seeing girls making/cooking on fires, getting grubby and muddy and being just kids. Our dubious claim to fame in our hometown is encouraging a lot of girls to make fires and burn sausages on said fires. We even had them firing flaming arrows at targets and I hope they have happy memories.

That's so nice to see dolls appropriately dressed!

It just came to me and made me smile, my sone is now 32 but when he was about 3 he was desperate for a tiny tears and buggy, we got him one for his birthday and it was his pride and joy for many a month much to the horror of my blokey brother!
