PixieDust
I was a bad Pob mum and didn't notice I was getting to the end of my Marriages pellets. This morning I realised they wouldn't make it til Tuesday so ran my farm but as I suspected the shop is shut til Tuesday. I had visions of either feeding them mixed corn and s"Ooops, word censored!"s or driving to a large Pets at Home over an hour away. Luckily I phoned my local Pah and they have refurbished and are selling chicken stuff. They tell me they have Dodson and Horrell layers pellets. I look them up and they seem to only do GM free which is good but have natural yolk enhancers. I decide to just get a 5kg bag and when I get there nowhere on the package does it say GM free. Checking their website they only do GM free. How good or bad is it as a short term tied-over?
mullethunter
As you'll see if you read my reply to your other post, I'm a REALLY bad Chook mum because I've just switched mine to Cornwall Farmers own! Before that they were eating up the out of date Marriages with Flubanvet which they REALLY like. Since I've had them, mine have had a 5kg bag of D&H from PAH twice. My main reason for not getting this normally is that it's too expensive, but the second bag I bought was really dusty too - I should have taken it back. Sorry this is a bit of a waffle and I can't give you an answer, just my experiences. Seemed fine and the girls did eat it but flung a fair bit about the place and obviously prefer Marriages (don't normally get it though as I can only get it online). Blackrocksrock
I have always bought Dodson and Horrell and the big bags certainly say GMfree that is why I buy them and my girls seem to do well on them.
Stagsbrae
I previously used P@H own brand pellets but swapped to Dodson & Horrell recently (as their horse feeds are good). As per one of the other posts re: increase in appetite, my two are getting through the D&H pellets at a great rate! They are laying really well just now - bonus! PixieDust
MIne have Smallholder pellets usually, they hate D&H Yep mine don't like D&H. Someone else mentioned how dusty D&H is. Last night whilst cleaning the feeder in preparation for worming, I too noticed how dusty the pot was.
