Last 2 evenings before bed the girls have been out in the garden. They have loved it. I can't FR them every day but an our 3 or 4 times a week is better than nothing.

So worried they are going to try to escape but they haven't wandered too far yet. Winnie got quite worried tonight because it was getting dark and the other 2 had wandered off and she thought they should be going to bed

Awwww, it's so nice to hear they had a lovely time :D

I often think I would like mine to potter around the garden but then I worry about how much noise they might make when they can't come out - plus the hundreds of local cats around.

I bet they reward you with even more eggs :D

My girls have always free ranged a few times a week and absolutely love it but I have to be careful now because flora actually chases and attacks my dog Rudy and I'm scared she will peck his eye!! It sounds funny but it's scary...she honestly chases him!!!!! Sh doesn't mind Dylan but for some reason rudy offends her

Our garden backs on to a field where my boss has 2 horses and 2 pet sheep!. Mine free range all day and have now discovered the field and we rarely see them except for back to eat pellets and for water till its time to come home to bed - they can be seen in the field all day roaming with the horses and the sheep - the horses are used to chickens as my boss has them at his house too and the horses are there during the winter time. Ours have not been laying so this morning we watched the 2 of them head off up to the green hay feeder and when I went up there - I found 10 fresh eggs as they have not laid for the last 6 days in the eglu - they obviously prefer the feeder! - luckily they are all fresh and useable but will have to keep them in in the mornings till they lay - we had searched the garden for eggs and never found any - that would be why!!
