patsylabrador
They are noisy, quarrelsome and greedy. They are also funny and I've missed them for a few years. They are back with a vengeance. I was very pleased to get this photo.
Cat tails
Oh very nice! They are quite abundant here and nest between the wall and the roof tiles. I love their little noises and sounds. So vocal! They really surprised me and the ladies a few weeks back. I was standing in the garden and thought I heard the chickens, but very far off. (my garden is tiny, so there is no far off...) The ladies heard it too and were looking up. There was a starling sitting on the roof of my house mimicking the little sounds the chickens make! The Dogmother
I also noticed them back just before I went on hols. They are brilliant mimics, I remember that my folks had one in their garden, which would imitate their old trimphone with such accuracy that my mum would rush indoors to answer it! chickencam
We used to have lots here and they were nesting in our roof and next door but one, we both took steps to prevent this because they were doing quite a bit of damage. I didn't notice any mimicking though. We have a large sparrow population now, they also nest under the edges of the tiles but don't cause any problems.
