Luvachicken
Ages ago I bought the chickens a Feather and Beaky treat dispenser for their Christmas present. I decided as today is so miserable they could have it a day early They seem to quite like it, it hangs and as they peck it the treats scatter and they have to find them. Anyone else bought a present for their girls ?

Cat tails
My cat finds the crickets just as interesting as the chickens... Still have a few survivors in their box and they are rather large. It's like cat television!
gavclojak
What a great idea! I have never even considered it but I will get them some straight after Christmas x

Cat tails
Do keep the boxes of crickets indoors. It's too cold outside for them to stay in a shed. You can keep them for a bit longer by feeding them bits of lettuce, cabbage etc. I tend to not feed the shed skins or dead crickets to the chickens, although the would definitely eat them. Don't think it would harm them... But it doesn't feel quite right.
PickleHen
Crickets seem to be the gift of choice. Our girls are petrified of the swing..... for now!
