Happy-Mama
Hello, can anyone tell me how to fry an egg without the white bit burning?
Martin B
Buy a specially made fried egg pan. I think they're about £5 normally.
Happy-Mama
Wow, does such a thing truely exist???
Rona
Just don't let your pan get too hot and let it cook slowly while you skoosh the oil over the yolk until it all cooked but still runny so you can dip your bacon, sausage, black pudding, fried bread or tomotoes in it. Yum, yum
starboyhull
I always make sure the oil isnt that hot as I hate over cooked fried eggs......
Happy-Mama
ah, I think that might be where I'm going wrong, I always get the pan quite hot. Is it okay to use olive oil?
The Dogmother
I dry-fry some bacon in my pan, then use the juices from that to fry the eggs - they come up a treat.
Laura & CTB
I use a generous amount of sunflower oil and keep basting the egg so the top cooks as quick as the underneath. Medium heat though. p.s. I cant believe I've just answered a cooking question

Rhapsody
Yup a medium heat under the pan will stop you getting those horrid burnt bits, I always cook fried eggs in a mixture of butter and olive oil.

Happy-Mama
thanks, yes I agree eggs are yummy. Though I don't have my own chickens, my Grandad used to keep chickens one of them laid white eggs and they were always my favourite. I remember as a kid how much i used to love going down the garden to collect the eggs
