By process of elimination this must of happened due to where they all were when I was in the garden near the coop. I know they can lay teo in a day, but at the same time? Maybe I am going mad?? Cannot find a definate answer on the internet.
Cat tails
Don't think it is possible. It takes around 24 hours for a hen to form an egg and lay it.

Chickabee
Ive had 2 in one day, but not 2 at once. You have youngsters don't you? I think they are all messed up at that age, so who knows. Maybe?
Hippie Chick
My Bluebell hybrid did this several times when she'd just started laying, usually one had a paper thin shell or was completely shell less, it took her about 5 weeks to get her eggs in proper order! emmalou
How strange. If this was the case they are proper shells and look normal pullet size eggs.
chooksRCute
I've had a couple of broody hens lay a second egg when I've confiscated the ones they're guarding......but never one straight after the first
