Luvachicken
My chicks are now 20 weeks old (yesterday) The Dogmother suggested I waited until then to worm them so I have mixed up the feed today. I mixed the big girls their normal layers pellets and the Flubenvet. Then, this is where I may have got confused, I mixed up the chicks food with half growers pellets and half layers pellets and then the Flubenvet. I have had it in my head that because I was going to start introducing them soon, that they should start to be on layers pellets - otherwise they won't be able to mix. Have I mixed it right ? Or should I change the chick food back to growers pellets and the Flubenvet ? Milly has just laid her first egg today, Molly is crouching and Lily is a little bit behind. The Dogmother
I wouldn't worry too much for now, but I usually leave them on growers feed until they start to lay. I tend to buy the ready mixed pellets instead of using the powder
mullethunter
I think they'll be fine Luvachicken. They're clearly nearly all mature now so you won't harm them. Shelley was way behind Bernadette coming into lay, and because she was the only one she was on layers for a whole winter before she was actually laying. Didn't seem to do her any harm.
