Cheep Chick
I first got my chicks in April they where pol. My legbar was slightly older. She now hasn't laid for about six weeks. Her face and wattles are paler and she has lost her tail feathers and bottom fluffy feathers. She is behaving perfectly normally I can't find and trace of parasites she never laid every day. But none for six weeks is worrying me. Any ideas.
mullethunter
Don't panic- she's just moulting!
The Dogmother
Yeo, sounds that way to me too. See if you can source some Biotin from a feed store and add it to their feed for the next month. This is one of the key nutrients to 'build' feathers, and will help them to recover quicker and grow a lovely new winter wardrobe. Do you usually worm them regularly? If not, when they have stopped moulting, you might want to get some Flubenvet pellets and worm them, this will help them to stay in good health. Cat tails
One of my hens is having a rather dramatic moult right now. Almost oven ready!
