ChickNic
I am pleased to announce the arrival of Daisy and Gretchen to the Forum! They arrived yesterday and have settled into their new red Eglu just fine. Daisy, who is slightly smaller, took herself off to bed at 7.45pm and Gretchen (after much dramatic marching up and down the run!) followed about half an hour later, without needing any help....what good girls! My fears that they would wake early and annoy the neighbours are so far unfounded. Fingers crossed they stay that way! Today's task is to turn the muddy veg patch that we have flattened into a wood chippings delight (before they completely ruin the grass!). I am still in shock at the size and quantity of poo that they have produced in less than 24 hours. I wish I could post pics and add the chicken and eglu icons you have, but can't quite figure that out yet - tips welcome! Best wishes, Nicky. craftyhunnypie
Awwww they are lovely - look at their tiny tiny combs. What are they about 16 weeks? My magpie & black rock (bounty & rolo) have similar sized combs! Have fun with them! Emma.x
ChickNic
I was told that they were about 18 weeks, which I'm guessing is 2-3 weeks before egg time
