Tweety
Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone has 10 chickens in a Cube and, if so, how big a run do you have? I've got 6 gorgeous girls in a Cube with the extended run, but have 4 more on order, and am worried that the run may not be big enough for 10. My girls free-range all day, so they wouldn't be confined to the run all the time, but I'd welcome any advice/opinions. Thanks in advance! feemcg
I have 10 that sleep comfortably in the cube but I have a big home-made run, not the cube one.
The Dogmother
If you have the run extension and plan to let them freerange all day, then ten would be fine. It's the run that restricts the number really.

BeckyBoo
definitely agree, 10 in the cube is easy peasey, 10 in the extended run is OK but they'd have to be out a fair amount of the time - that's why I can't really justify getting any more. Well, not til I get another Eglu for Christmas (hint hint OH??! ) Mrs B

Thanks in advance! im only gonna go to 8 in a cube! maybe theres plenty of room but i personally thing maybe 10 be a tight squeeze!. oh i have reasonably sized home made run that the cube and hens live in! Richard
I have eight big girls in my Cube, with another two reserved - my Orpingtons are getting pretty large now (I have three of them), and the Buff Sussex aren't insubstantial ladies. the two to come are Cochins - another heavy breed. I don't have any problems with space - unless a couple of the girls decide to sit in the doorway on the way in at night, then I get one or two outside hopping from foot to foot until they eventually go up and barge their way through! Mind you, theres a lot of poo! I don't have an Omlet run - mine are in a homemade run which is bigger.
