Dancing Gal
I have a lovely new greenhouse - just 3 or 4 weeks in place and now ready for action. Any suggestions as to what I can grow in there over the winter. I have plenty of stuff planned from Jan onwards but it's looking a bit vacant now. Lesley
We grow salad leaves through the winter. Marshalls do packs of seeds that can stand the cold and even outside in the snow as long as you've started them early enough. Stuff like Miners Lettuce and Corn Salad (Mache)
chickencam
Both coriander and parsley grow well in a well ventilated greenhouse in the Winter

Dancing Gal
Well I have parsley growing nicely, some chicory and some arctic lettuce have sprouted in grow bags. When I sowed them in the veg bed the cat decided it was a lovely kitty litter area and destroyed them. I've also got my cuttings sitting in there and they seem happy enough. So it's not quite a hive of activity but at least it's doing something. Just wait till Feb it will be bursting at the seams
chickencam
Good idea to make a screen for the door to keep the cats out, last year my old cat decided it was preferable to wet outdoor soil and because we had nothing in there the door was left open and we didn't go in there. I went in there in spring and found this weird mould growth everywhere - 3 inches high and like black hair ( cat poo ) . Also this summer my two new cats ( old Toffee sadly passed on in July aged 19 ) seem to think that the purpose of our greenhouse in private wc, now have screen knocked together from lengths of rough wood bit like big roosting bars
