Warm boot recommendations please

Panic this morning. I've been a bit worried about the door mechanism on the Cube as I can't see inside (it is enclosed) and so was concerned that if it went wrong I could do anything about it.

 

True to my paranoia, this morning I couldn't get the door to unlock. The handle just wouldn't engage as I turned it - it would slide in and out OK but I couldn't get it to turn into the slot in the top of the door to unlock and push the door open. I couldn't push the door open with something else in the slot as the door was locked (I can't see how that bit works as its inside the moulding, which is a pity)

 

Eventually it did engage and unlock, and I got the door open, but to loads of fuss and noise as I managed to trap poor Arrietty behind it as it rushed open.

 

I am just not going to lock it and push the handle back in future - I'll just pull it across and leave it connected to the door with the handle sticking out.

 

Shame really. anybody else had a similar problem?

 

Its a shame the Cube doesn't have the same hinging mechanism as the Eglu - I've never had a moments bother with that. And the girls can push it open to let themselves out in the mornings, which is a big bonus!

I agree about the door,Richard.

Its the one thing that is holding me off from ordering a cube, as I love the fact that at the moment they can bundle their way out on their own

 

I am hoping for a MK2 Cube soon, with a swing out door
