superjules
We have had our first 2-egg day today after getting our pre-loved year-old eglu and chickens a week ago! One of the chickens had stopped laying eggs about a week before we got her so I'm really pleased that they are both happy, healthy and productive. On the downside, the first egg this morning got eaten (by the chickens, I hasten to add!) so I have done the chilli blown egg thing. Hope it works as I keep getting reminded by DH they need to lay 1,000 eggs before they "break even" !! As they've laid 5 eggs so far and we bought the eglu and chickens for £250, we're currently at £50 per egg!
