SueSteve
One of our omlet hens that arrived this morning appears to have had her beak clipped. Is this normal? Sue
Egluntyne
One or two people have had the same query...one of my own hens has a funny looking beak. I wonder if they trim the odd one of it is not quite right. My girl certainly has no trouble eating. It is not beak trimming in the cruel battery sense, which is what makes me think it is just a tidy up.
chickencam
We have a White Star with a clipped beak we think it must have been done to try to stop her feather pecking beacuse she does this now even with the clipped beak
welsh sarah
hi both of mine seem to have clipped beaks, it doesnt seem to bother them i think it is something they did to all of the chickens at the place i bought them sarah
moochoo
Both of my Omlet girls arrived with clipped beaks. I think they originally live in massive groups and it helps with pecking and feather pulling. I've had my girls for 6 weeks and their beaks are nearly fully regrown As previously said it certainly doesn't interfere with eating!
