chickencam
We also have an 'evil' cat in our road which used to attack our old cat, but last year even at 18 yrs old she sorted him out and we came home to find a completely destroyed fuschia, and soil everywhere. She had a slightly twisted leg and limped for a couple of days but she had loads of the other cat's fur in her mouth and under her nails so I think she gave as good as she got Scamp is recovering from her adventures last week, the limp is almost better but she has developed what the vet thinks is feline herpes virus which is like the human cold sore virus and is brought on by stress. She is sneezing a lot and has an eye infection. She has been given a long lasting antibiotic injection and eye ointment. Has anyone else's cat had this and do you think the cattery will take her on Saturday when we go away for half term if she is still a bit sneezy? Louise
If the cat is sick the cattery will not take it especially if they think it is viral Do they ask for vaccination certificates
chickencam
Yes they do and they have been vaccinated against all the usual stuff.
Louise
It will almost certainly have issues with a viral animal if it asks for certificates I would call them now and see what they say rather than hope If the animal is snuffly they can't take the risk of it spreading to all of the others as it is a virus and will likely be spread through sneezing
Joojoo
Barney has just been to the vets and they are very pleased with his progress. He has to have anti-biotics for another 5 days just to make sure that it has left his system but all looking good. The vet even commented that it had been a particularly nasty one and that he had been exceptionally well behaved when I took him in last week Bless him. He is a good boy.
