Clash City Rocker
In this seasons football Worcester City, Kettering & Boston United are all playing in the "Blue Square" Northern Division (classed as a regional division) against clubs from Workington, Blyth Spartans & Barrow
Jules.
We are from Lancashire but our families still talk about us having moved 'down south' to Leicestershire! They are so right, too I think that where you are is south
Egluntyne
I feel Oop North in Sheffield, but when I visit my son in Leicester, I don't feel that I've gone Dahn Sarth as it takes no time at all to get there, and the local accent isn't southern, it's more Midlands. I saw Sheffield described as North Midlands recently. Never in a Million years.
Looney
Many parts of South Yorkshire (classed as North usually) are level with many parts of Lincolnshire which aren't classed as North but Midlands.....or even South now in the new research! This topic has certainly created a good discussion!

chocolatedog
I always find it amusing driving up from the in-laws (West Sussex) and seeing the overhead gantry signs on the motorway signing you to "The North" - I've never actually spotted the sign that says "The North - you have reached your destination"......... Richard
well my children are and I speak for them (well 2of 3) My Mum was from London, and I was actually born in Surrey before coming back to near the village where my Dad's family has lived for ages and ages - so technically so am I. But I am definately not a Southerner
