Lydias4chickens
Hello, I’m really concerned about one of my chickens. Yesterday afternoon a noticed she was not her usual self and quite lethargic. I took her out to health check and nicer her crop felt rather large. After checking the others who are displaying normal behaviour I found hers to be enlarged and similar to a water balloon.. I left over night to see if her crop emptied and this morning checked again.. no change? Still full, whereas the others had emptied overnight. From my research I am thinking it’s sour crop, and tried to make her be sick this morning but didn’t get very far. She was ever so slightly sick but I’m not sure my technique is right? Has anyone else had the same problem? What treatment did you administer? should I try again with make her be sick and empty her crop? any help/advice would be much appreciated!! lydia
Cat tails
From memory you need to starve her from food for at least 24 hours. But when in doubt, contact a vet! Here is a good topic with some tips:
