Our Light Sussex is laying

Recommended Posts

We thought that she might not lay now until spring, but the on the morning that we left for our half term break we saw her in the nest box, and the result was a lovely lilacy beige egg 58g.

We realised then that she had also laid a couple of days earlier but 'mother hen' our top chook was seen sitting on it so we thought that she had laid a paler egg for some reason. She was either tring to take credit for it or she was congratulating her run mate on her first egg

She has since laid several more all the same weight, clever girl, it's amazing what the sun brings out
