Egluntyne
Youngest son went to watch Sheffield FC (who are the oldest football club in the world!) play Inter Milan at Bramall Lane last night, as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations. Not surprisingly, Inter Milan won. 5-2. Pele was there....as my son said...all 3 foot 6 of him. He came up to his minders waist! He did a lap of honour etc.
Martin B
We beat Inter Milan 3-0 earlier in the season...

Egluntyne
You're not kidding. A morose and charmless individual. He has the admiration and support of neither the players nor the supporters.
chelsea
Even though the blades lost, what a great game for your son to see . At least Utd scored (even though they lost). And it was a celebratory game (so it didnt really matter they lost). Sheffield Utd were much better when Warnock managed them - even though a lot of people disliked Warnock's outspoken manner - he was a good driving force for the players! (much like mourinho )
Egluntyne
It wasn't the Blades....it was Sheffield FC....they don't get picked up much on the radar.... I might have confused you with the mention of Bramall Lane which was the venue for this match. Sheffield FC were the first team ever to form themselves into an official club, and there rules formed the basis of FA rules etc. Sepp Blatter dropped by the other week. ...HERE... is their website. Always been fond of United since i placed a large bet on them a few years back and they won Robson is utterly useless as a manager , good footballer though
Egluntyne
My son didn't bother to get a season ticket this year. A friend went to an "Evening with Bryan Robson" when he first came. (Cost £10 inc Pea and Pie Supper!) She was appalled at his rudeness. He delivered a monotone speach about how wonderful he was, refused to answer questions and literally pushed his way out of the room. Everyone was disgusted.
