Christian
The funny thing is, it was given to me by next door as they said it kept blowing over!! I thought i had anchored it down enough! Will attached it to the wall with bungees next time. And a rope. And screws.
Snowy
My new mini green house blew over!! All my seedlings, sweet peas, lettuce, penstemons and strawberry runners are ruined!!! 2 months of growing, repotting and watering down the pan!!! I'm fuming!!! At least no one was hurt! Its still really windy here and the trees are taking a battering! Mine did it too, in spring when all my seedlings for the veg patch were in It's got a big loop of rope around it now, tied to the house! Are you able to rescue any of it Christian? Mine has a length of washing line tying it to the fence. It took a bit of a battering though. I reckon I'll only get one more year out of it. Lesley
We ended up with quite a nice afternoon. We were supposed to be going walking on local hills before meeting up with my son and his girlfriend at the pub at Edgehill and handing Lauren and Jake over to them. We had kites at the ready..... but gave the walk a miss as the weather was so vile... had lunch at the pub and handed over the children. The afternoon was more settled and the sun came out I didn't do anything constructive with it though........ cleared up the glue and paper from making cards with Lauren and Jake and then vegged out....... Egluntyne
We went to the Festival of Light at St Lukes Hospice in Sheffield. It is one of their main fundraisers. You make a donation to have a light in memory of a loved one......they light up the trees with white twinkly lights and get a local celeb and a patient to switch them on. We always support it. My sister and her family came over. It was so wet and gusty that the brass band could barely be heard.....the new PA system couldn't cope either so the speeches ere inaudible. It was so foul that people only stayed a few minutes. Such a shame as it is usually a lovely event. The mulled wine and mince pies were nice.
