Egluntyne
It is fairly dreadful here. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't snow. It's very windy and the rain is that stinging sort. Was out at 3.30am as darling son couldn't get a taxi....he'd been trying since 1am.
Lesley
Vile here as well...... and we've been up sice 5.30 when Jazz barked at cats and woke Lauren and Jake up Korean barbecue here tonight I think Our outdoor tree was flattened overnight on Friday - it is in a large pot, full of heavy clay soil and with 4 large granite rockery rocks on it but was still flattened by the wind. we've tied it down now and it is still standing this morning. Lesley
I was going to add "and a Chinese" but that is even more obscure......... ..... but. it was the cats who started it..... I've just packed two children, an OH and the dog off to feed all the animals "because the weather is only going to get worse" - wonder how long I've got on here before they come back? If they aren't all tied together it could be a while It is horrid here, all squally and chucking it down, has been all morning. I will put the eglu outside the run and let the weather wash it for me I think
ubereglu
It's very windy and wet today down here. Just hope it eases off later as I need to clean out the eglu. Hope it's drier next weekend as my sister and her fiance are coming to see us for the weekend of Dad's birthday. Also I was planning to get my Christmas wreath and centre piece done on Friday! Cate in NZ
Sounds like a great excuse to stay in, get the fire lit and cosy up with a good book Or I could get a start on the Christmas cards Hubby and son are both playing football this afternoon...........I think I might duck ou of my normal supporters role Is it really nasty of me to be speculating about just how well the neighbours up the road have secured their enormous inflatable Santa, who is currently waving menacingly to all and sundry from his position on the roof
Guest
The day just gets better and better! I am more than a little sorry for myself. It's Advent Sunday and we have a huge carol service tonight with 7 choir anthems including, for those who know it, Parry's I was glad. I have been ill for the last 3 days and have no voice AT ALL! All the rehearsals have gone so well and it promises to be an excellent service, but I have a temperature of 100, blocked sinuses and a chesty cough. Still praying for a miracle recovery this afternoon. Maybe the high winds will blow it all away?

Well now I have dragged the eglu out of the run it has stopped raining so I must go off and wash it now

Jules.
We have not had a dry bit in the day at all. And.. Alexander had left the eggport door off since he got the eggs this morning ( I had sent him down the garden with a brolly, so he was a bit hampered).I hope my girls are ok in their damp bed sheets. chelsea
absolutely AWFUL day here in Devon. Blowing a gale, wet all day, hail, cold, and even though it was daylight - it seemed dark all day. Chooks have had very windy knickers today, spent the day either in the garage (sat lovingly next to their sack of corn) or under the patio umbrella specially lowered and positioned by the back door for the chooks. We have spent the day putting up indoor decs, listening to Christmas songs and eating.
The Dogmother
It's been mostly vile here this weekend - yesterday was vvvvvcold, sunny and windy. Last night was gale force and lashing rain, ditto this morning. It cheered up around lunchtime so i could go out and clean the animals out and do a bit of tidying - the chooks weren't too impressed with the high winds. Now it's dry but still VV windy. The two enormous trees at the end of a neighbours garden (an oak and an ash) are lashing around and creaking. I am sure that they are safe, they just don't sound it

All my seedlings, sweet peas, lettuce, penstemons and strawberry runners are ruined!!! 2 months of growing, repotting and watering down the pan!!! I'm fuming!!! At least no one was hurt!
