Cookie
I was clearly middle-aged before my time as I've been a fan of The Archers on Radio 4 since I was a teenager! On their website, they have a section called "Fantasy Archers" where fans can post their own parodies or alternative storylines. Its usually completely surreal but very funny. The latest one to go up is the world as seen by one of Betty's chickens (though I guess they are Mike's chickens since Betty died.... ). Here is the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/archers/listeners/fantasies/chicken_tale.shtml Are there any other Archers fans out there? Love, Cookie. xx

Richard T
HP and I listen too. We usually have the omnibus on on a Sunday morning, although over the last few weeks we've managed to miss quite a lot so we're a bit confused about why Peggy is in such a rush to sell Grey Gables. Anyone know? Richard T
Popcorn
I have to say I haven't heard one episode of the Archers, but I'd know the theme tune anywhere I might make an effort to listen in now Cookie. We're big Six Music fans here, and it's an effort to tune into anything else.
Cookie
Ooops; it looks as though being an Archers fan is even more of an embarrasment than fancying David Seaman Cookie. xx
Popcorn
Well, I wouldn't go that far Cookie....
Sheilaz
Hey Cookie, I am! I try & do the veg prep. etc when the Sun omnibus is on. And listen out for any chicken references! Some of the characters & storylines get on my nerves though, so I only listen to about half of it, I'm not exactly a fan, just a sometimes listener. Linda
Ooh yes, I like the Archers. I remember hearing the theme tune all round the caravan parks when holidaying as a child (of course, in those days we only had the radio to entertain us in a caravan!). I like to listen to the omnibus, or (when I'm not at work), catch the 2 o'clock session with a cup of tea before the children come home from school. It can be a bit alarming when you find yourself doing the things your parents did, can't it!!!
Cookie
Oooh, you're so right Linda! I listen to the 7 o'clock slot most nights. I'm either just getting in from work, or I've just put my DD to bed, depending on what day it is. Even hearing the theme tune reminds me of my mother!! Richard T - I think Peggy's eager to sell Grey Gables quickly because of Jack's deteriorating health. Another way I often listen is to catch up with episodes on 'play again' when I am on the Omlet frum - multi-tasking you see!! Love, Cookie. xx
Night Nurse
I'm also going to out myself as an Archers fan - like you, I tend to do the listen again thing on the computer - I miss the actual timing of the episodes due to work..... And yes, I also think Peggy is selling fast so Jack still has a bit of time to enjoy the money.......
