Guest
That's OK then. Plenty of time!
Olly
everything was going beautifully until last night, when I was due at a friend's house to meet my group of girlfriends and exchange presents. I was just packing the jars of chutney and marmalade in the BHWT bags, when I dropped one. My kitchen has ceramic tiled floor, so that was that! Now one of my presents was incomplete Kind friend who was with me cleared up, and offered to forego her jar of marmalade, so I still had enough presents to go round. Phone then rang, other friend telling me 'great, C is coming tonight as she hasn't had the baby yet'. Delighted to see C, but had assumed she would not be coming so hadn't got her a present. Whilst panicking about this - and the fact that we were now running late - kind, helpful friend emptied the bin. Bin-bag split (curse those biodegradable bags!) and the marmalade jar hit the ceramic floor for the second time along with various other items I had not planned to see again. By this time I was almost hysterical. Gin had to be administered. How can things go from 'I am totally in control, all is fine' to 'help, I can't cope' in a matter of seconds? Or is it just me ... Egluntyne
What a shame Olly. Tiled floors are great until you drop something delicate on them. A one pint Pyrex bowl smashes into countless pieces. It took months to hoover it up completely. Tricky about the unexpected friends present......or lack of. Olly
well it all worked out fine in the end, C's baby is ten days overdue so we weren't expecting that she'd be there that evening - she was delighted with a box of home-made biscuits (luckily I had spares of those!) and we all had a lovely evening. I bought this house with the kitchen installed - easy to clean but I would NEVER ever choose a tiled floor. Not only does nothing survive, but as you say it shatters into smithereens (lovely word). If you have pets or small children that's not good! sorry, got off the senior moment thread here. I have so many of those, they are unremarkable - the most usual is climbing the stairs and then thinking 'what did I come up here for?' Egluntyne
Have you ever put milk bottles in the bin and rubbish in the fridge when attempting to multi task.

Jules.
What am I saying - of course he was.. he's bald, isn't he? (say no more ) Ah, but he wasn't then! He had blond hair in the style of Jason Donovan *swoon* It was 1993....
The Dogmother
Phil used to have blond curls.. apparently - never saw them myself. Still, they are bald now; that's what matters
Jules.
They are bald, but I need help. He's growing a goatee beard..... i hate facial hair, all itching & scratchy. What can I do?
The Dogmother
Tell him it's giving you beard rash! Phil usually has a bit of 'face furniture', but never a goatee (I think they're a bit 'mobile phone salesman-y). I do object though when he goes for ages between shaves and it looks like Captain Birdseye!
