The Dogmother
Well, what a clever girl! one of the newbies, Jude has beaten them all to it and laid me her first egg this morning! A tiny, beautifully formed mid-beige egg. I haven't had time to weigh it yet, but she's had extra corn in celebration. Now to get those other moulters back laying

The Dogmother
Hey Jude!!! Well done! How long has it been since you've had an egg Claret? Errrmmm.... 23rd October was the last egg (from Sadie) who promptly lost all her feathers. This was Jude's first ever egg and I've now had four from her, and Sadie has started laying again. This is the quickest recovery from moulting/winter light/cold that I have ever had. I am sure that some of it is due to the weather not being too cold, but I am also convinced that the chick crumbs make a difference in getting moulting birds back into condition.
