chocchick
Buffie, I've heard about your thorough chicken/eglu cleaning .....are you sure? (runs away to avoid comeback from Buffie).
Louise
I think it is another sad way society is going that in order to be considered a 'perfect housewife' you have to be superficial and shallow and all that matters is what something 'looks' like I love my tidy house but that is all it is tidy if I can't be accepted by society because I don't fold my towels right - well tough Rant over Sorry
chocchick
She inspired me into a rant too. I'm usually lovely
Louise
Me too *smiles innocently* I'm afraid I get annoyed with things designed to make anybody feel inadequate about an aspect of their life lets just accept we are all individuals god help us if there were 2 antheas out there
Linda
I agree, Louise. We all have our own brand of special uniqueness to add to the world. Mustn't let paranoid anally retentive people make us feel inadequate!!
Cinnamon
I think there is a danger of taking it a bit too seriously - the show was in a very tongue -in-cheek manner,& was really rather fun
buffie
Buffie, I've heard about your thorough chicken/eglu cleaning .....are you sure?(runs away to avoid comeback from Buffie). My cleanliness is legendary The pug told me last night that I was untidy (yes i am and I asked him ) The chickens are neat and tidy but I tend to leave paper around and things. I think i'll start a new thread on this. *runs off chasing chocchick on the way to the forum* BBx
Guest
I watched it last night, and it really made me giggle the whole way through. I must admit though, I spent 20 minutes this morning refolding all my towels, given that they are normally in a heap in the cupboard, and actually can see the sense behind they way she folds them. Oh god! Does that mean I'm turning into Anthea Turner??!

buffie
oh Shona now I have to try doing mine, as it's a jumble in the airing cupboard...I even put a half lemon in the dishwasher last night i am not ashamed but it's nice to give some things ago. I use vinegar to get rid of limescale it's wonderful so it's just an eco friendly way of doing things! Clever show really, take one control freak, others with no order at all and ...hey presto a show that we are all moaning about but watching BBx

chocchick
I tidied the laundry out of our bedroom, and remembered I had put some washing on and forgotten about it after watching good old Anthea. If she would send me some champagne I would be willing to change my untidy ways Enjoyed moaning about Anthea Did think it would be better to get the lazy housewives to do the basic tidying before the clever towel-folding thingy. kannie
Who is Anthea Turner anyway? Is she the woman that used to assist Bruce Forsyth? (We're obviously deprived not having BBC3)
chocchick
She used to present Blue Peter

Mel (& Paul)
I watched and it did make me giggle - mostly the two women were just untidy - but I did agree with the woman with the two young children who would rather play with them then clean - why not?!?!? Surely if you are able to spend time at home then the whole idea is to be with your children? Or am I, as a childfree person, missing something? It also gave me the opportunity to say to Paul - see, I might be bad but I am not THAT bad

The Dogmother
I agree, I'm not a fan either; not only is she unbelievably irritating, but she's a nasty, manipulative minx too! Well that's what I think anyway!
