Couperwife
wow I love octopusses (octopi? octopus... what ever, them 8 legged things wih suckers ) I think they are so clever, I saw a programme of some marine biologists doing some form of testing on one (not nasty testing - just educational stuff) and this little octopus managed to get the lid off the tank and escape when no-one was looking (except the camera man, who filmed it all, then told the marine biologists ) cathy x
lisa33
How cute. I always go to the Blue Reef Aquarium when we go to Newquay.

Guest
isn't it nice to know that they care about the mental stimulation that Louis gets, that's so cute I love to tickle the rays whenever we go to places like the sealife centre, they do seem to love human contact. little chickadee
That's so cute! Our local zoo does a lot of enrichment stuff with the animals to make sure they get a bit of mental stimulation too but I've never seen a mr potato head!! Ain't Nobody Here
That's a lovely story . I must show it to my 13 yr old son who wants to be a marine biologist when he grows up (if there's anything he doesn't know about sharks, I'd be surprised ). Rhapsody
I think it shows how far we've come in our thinking on animal welfare if a squid is being considered this way. As 'enriched' environments are very much in the chicken news I thought it appropriate
