Mamachook76
I'm concerned that the young chickens may fall out the eglu g9 up and hurt/ kill themselves. Any suggestions? I'm torn between taking them in to rear in house and upsetting mama
Beantree
And if they do survive coming out, they won't be able to get back in. Yes, you will have to move them, but rearing is the complicated bit so read up on it. Ideally you would move mum and chicks together to a proper rearing unit, so she keeps them warm. Cat tails
Alternatively you could make a ramp in front of the door and fill the space up with something like easychick bedding. Make sure you fill the space between the roosting bars up too. Spread bedding over the whole tray to nake an even surface.
Mamachook76
I've reared in house before with success. My concern is for the mama chook who has taken her job very seriously. I can bring her in. I was going to put a bunny hut on floor of coop and move her there? Or do I bring the chicks in? Mama is a first time mama
