The gaffe is revealed! (now spelt correctly)

But will it encourage people? I think anyone going into P@H and seeing fox food is going to think "what a cr@p idea - I'm not wasting my money on that...." (Well I would anyway!) :D:wink:

But if people are gonna choose to feed foxes, they will do it whether P@H sell fox food or not....!!!

I don't agree. People are more likely to feed foxes if they can easily buy food. Just the same as anything else, if you make something easier people will do it. There will be some people who think "Oh that's a nice idea. I'll try some of that", but they wouldn't have previously thought of putting out s"Ooops, word censored!"s of food for the foxes.

Well they *can* easily buy food - a tin of dog or cat food.

Grrrr  I am watching this but not getting emails :?

Anyway the point is simply that food for foxes is suggesting you're feeding needy wildlife like hedgehogs or wild birds. it's not the same. If you see the food in a shop it says 'it's a good idea' i don't think it is and again foxes need to be wary of humans.

You can get fags if you are under 16 but we shouldn't make it easy :wink:

That's what I have against them Louise, the wholesale, needless slaughter. I know that it's just their nature, but I don't like it.

I'm a bit late on this one...

but a human criticising a fox for "wholesale, needless slaughter"...

that's a bit rich... :?

Mel...I didn't have the impression that anyone was arguing against meateaters, (and I agree with you) perhaps your mind was on your interview today!

I took it that Phil's comment was directed at "man's inhumanity to man". Agree with that too....

...but I don't think I'll get started on that one here. :(

Re feeding foxes...foxes are lovely creatures...but not near chickens! But, as most here have implied, feeding urban foxes is bad for them and us. But, I can understand how people start.....if a wild animal visits the garden, it is fascinating to watch. A fox by the French windows, incredible, I never saw that as a child but would have loved it!

However, the bigger picture means it is ridiculous to encourage them into gardens & towns.

Also, nature does sort out the survival of the fittest in the wild. Our interference in feeding a mangy, sick, creature (as I've seen happen) is really not helpful.

Keep foxes wild!

I have news...

P@H have just called and

1. The photo was supplied by the blue cross  and was usually so small you couldn't see the writing. It was countrywide outside all stores since last July :lol::lol: She said it had given them all a laugh although not at first

Even better news. She has spoken to their wildlife buyer and they are repackaging the fox food as badger food, should change April/May.

All done!

BBx
