We tend to sell a lot in the Omlett boxes just because people at my work like them - but we do get big orders for 12 sometimes

I have seen the plain boxes but I am not sure where one gets them!

I don't want to be a 'party pooper' and I don't really know, but I thought you needed a Local Authority licence to sell anything from your door. Perhaps someone can correct me, or maybe it depends where you live?

I dont think you do need a licence if you have under a certain amount of chooks. - but I guess it is worth checking with the local authority

We have got round it by word of mouth. i don't have a sign but friends and neighbours know they are available sometimes and I have a 'waiting list' of people who will always buy when they are there. £1 for 6.

 

To be fair though, there isnt more than 1 box a week free. Must stop baking cakes..... or not

You can sell to family and friends without a licence but not to anyone who will be selling them to a third party - like shops.

 

I got the egg boxes from Ascotts as Ali has posted earlier, they do everything.

Just popped in!, I swap any spare eggs for a tin of sweetcorn or a lettuce or something for the girls to eat!!

the trouble with living in a small rural village is that there is always SOMEONE who wants to know what you are doing & why.....& telling you how you can do it better!

I applied for a domestic fowl trust catalogue, and it came this morning. In there they sell 3 PLAIN egg boxes for 22p. BARGAIN! The egg boxes carry 6 eggs each and their are upgradable sizes like 10 and 30. Just thought I'd tell you.

I think you lot sell your eggs quite cheap! I'd charge them depending on weight, however is that classed as size?
