craftyhunnypie
Hi - can anyone advise what to expect from a cream legbar apart from coloured eggs? What sort of personality do they have, can they get on with other hens easy? I am fascinated with the legbar eggs in Waitrose ~& I really want a legbar. feemcg
I have 2 and they are very (very ) friendly - they were home hatched so handled a lot, which helps.
sparkleeeeee
my three are lovely, they do take ages before the first egg though. i selected the breed for their friendliness as i have two toddlers. they need to have clipped wings though if they free-range as they can fly quite well. they are really easy to clip though as they dont mind a cuddle. they have been great when introducing new hens and i think they are the top girls in the flock. Cinnamon
My Clover is as daft as a brush She is really friendly & very sweet - not a flappy pecky hen like some of the others. She looks so funny with her silly hair & floppy comb too. I actually wish I had got a couple of Legbars last time as she is so adorable
Helen&Lee
My Cream Legbar is pretty flighty and skittish, not friendly at all. I can't handle her too much because I have great difficulty catching her I'm hopeing when she starts laying she will calm down, the others (bar one!) are all much better now they are laying Helen
anjuli
My cream Legbar has the most comical personality! She is SO nosey, always the first chicken to say hello and greet me. She has to be at the centre of where everything is happening! Her comb makes me laugh and her hairdo attracts lots of comments. We did have to wait ages for an egg, but now she lays alternate days. I'm sur you will love having that breed!
Ain't Nobody Here
My Maisie is a Columbine (Cream Legbar hybrid). She's the most friendly and is very cute with her tufty head. She lays green eggs. But ... she is the noisiest of my girls .
