chocchick
They'll probably be reddish with black tail and neck feathers. In fact sounds like a gingernut/meadowsweet ranger-that's light sussex x RIR and can have black or white tail/band round neck. http://www.omlet.co.uk/breeds/breeds.php?breed_type=Chickens&breed=Gingernut%20Ranger We started by naming Trinny and Susannah after the TV people as I found it amusing * then moved onto nice girl's names. The thing is if we have children how can we tell a child they were named after a chicken! (we've had Beth, Katy, Abbie and Megan) *My blog is still called what cluck to wear
Janty
The day before I picked up my girls, I managed to get Spice Girls tickets. They had to be named after the Spice Girls after that. Also, I named the most bossy chicken after the head of the school council. The girl is also in my cookery club and she thought that it was lovely. She has a photo of the chicken in her bedroom and Lauren got 'Lauren's' first egg! My son likes cooking so we had a bit of a cheffy theme going with the bantams but we lost Nigella and Fanny. Egluntyne
I went for hen puns with my girls names. The ex-batts will have a Strictly Come Dancing theme.
Guest
Gerty.........an ex batt named after Gertrude Jekyll (my fav garden designer) and now we're getting a cube...........so will have to think up some new names as we will get 2 or 3 more girls well. Lutyens' nick name for Jekyll was 'bumps' so maybe you could call one of your new girls 'bumps'?
Snowy
My children names mine - Florrie, Pom, Bella, Roley Mo, Little Bo and Bambi were named by the littlies. Ruby Tuesday and Whole Lotta Rosie were named by oldest son. Bertha and Beryl came pre-named Re Rhapsody's Bizmillah - it made more sense when it read "(Bluebelle) x Bizmillah, the mutant cut and shut" It used to give me the giggles every time I saw it
Tessa the Duchess
A couple of weeks before my chickens arrived I was doing a crossword, one of the clues was "an anathma to worms" the answer was "Anthelminthic". Perfect chicken name So I have Anthel (Annie) Minthic (Minnie) the third one Winnie is named after my late mum. Tessa.

Egluntyne
I remember PM'ing Tessa to ask about the names....I thought they were going to be obscure Saxon kings or something similar!
One Man Banned
Our inspiration came from "The Good Life" and with two ex-batts on the way we're carrying on the retro TV theme - the new girls will be names Audrey and Marjorie, from To The Manor Born, one of my favourite programmes. It does take a while to think of names tho!! A xx
