Jeanne
I am sorry for complaining about my none productive hens. They have been playing with me Today my hen Mimi laid my first green egg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How smart is that? I also found out that it was Kiev that had laid our first, and now daily egg. I heard the most almighty bok bok BOK!!!!!!!!!! and there was the biggest egg I have ever seen laid by a hen. It was 82gs. The previous one was 52. Poor Kiev, it must have hurt her. I now have 3 beautiful eggs lined up. My clever chickens have done me proud They all had to be taken to my daughters to view the miracles. Snowy
We should start a green/blue egg photo gallery. I would be interested to see the varying shades of green. I can't decide whether mine are green or blue, some days it seems more obvious than others!
Jeanne
Funny you should say that. My daughter thought the egg was blue, but it looks green to me and everyone else. I took a picture of the 3 eggs, I will upload and post it. I am not sure the colour will show though.

Eyren
Ouch! Makes your eyes water, just looking at that monster egg! The green one is very nice - maybe one day I will get a proper Araucana, not a cross-breed without the blue gene
Egluntyne
Now I am really lusting after a green or blue egg layer (or two!).

Ain't Nobody Here
Can I join the club too, please, please ? Our green eggs have definitely changed colour - they started off slightly sludgey green but since 3 softies and a mega freak egg (87g ) they're a much nicer, gentler green. You can see the difference here - the large egg is the old colour. Can't wait till I get my blue egg layer at Easter .
Jeanne
Kiev laid today. I now have 3 good girls working hard for me! Ouch! Makes your eyes water, just looking at that monster egg! The green one is very nice - maybe one day I will get a proper Araucana, not a cross-breed without the blue gene I certainly makes my eyes water My green egg layer is a hybrid. I thought I would get sludge green eggs first, but it is a lovely soft minty green. I don`t want to eat it it is so pretty. What a great range of colours Vikki. The big egg really stands out! I am sure you said your hen lays every day, is that right? Of course you can join the club I want a blue egg layer s well. I wonder if I can track down a breeder my way? Ain't Nobody Here
What a great range of colours Vikki. The big egg really stands out! I am sure you said your hen lays every day, is that right? She laid for 37 days on the trot, then laid 3 softies, one mega egg and now seems to be back to normal . I thought it was unusual, but I've since seen a few people saying their hens lay every single day. BTW, I'm glad you're getting lots of eggs now . Congratulations on your lovely eggs Ain't "Ooops, word censored!"ody Here were did you get your egg rack from? Jeanne
Well I would if I knew how to. Just put green eggs besides your green egg layers. I think it is the same code as the eggs you already have but type green in front of the egg (hope that makes sense)
