Worried about dad ..... and mum

Recommended Posts

ANH, you can't help feeling sorry for yourself, but that is part of the process which sounds a bit like the onset of depression - and you must be exhausted by having to spread one person around so many that need you. You must have a "time out" just for yourself - even if it sounds selfish, you really do need a rest session, pampering session, a nice walk along the beach session (I find waves on a beach are so lovely and relaxing). And - you can't do everything and be everywhere at the same time, so don't try even though you want to.

Regards, more virtual hugging from me too. ooxxoo

Don't know if this is good news or bad :? . She's getting out tomorrow or Friday. So what was that nurse yesterday talking about  ?

When I arrived a nurse caught me to say that they'd found mum trying to "escape" and she'd got aggressive and quite violent. We were having a discussion about this but then mum appeared with a face like thunder and starting laying into me. We've had trouble with this before, she can't stand people "talking about her behind her back". What does she expect when she pulls stunts like this all the time  .

Then a doctor came and tried to take me away for a chat. Oh no, that wasn't allowed :shameonu: . So she told both of us about the test results - nothing to worry about so they'll do a urine test to rule out an infection then she can go home.

I mentioned the tablets she overdosed on. The doctor knew nothing about them and asked if mum had mentioned them to the psychiatrist. "I wasn't going to tell anybody", she says.

I'm pleased she's going home really, as she can look after herself perfectly well. She's said she'll put the central heating on too so she should be OK.

So thanks for all your support and advice - looks like we'll be going back to "normal" for the time being  .
