cliveb
Hi All, Some advice please. My two ( Sharon and Lorrain) both love meal worms. Is it possible to overfeed them with the worms, at the moment they will eat a 100g box in less than a week easily.
Ain't Nobody Here
Are they dried mealworms? If so, I have read that they have no actual nutritional value so technically I suppose you couldn't overfeed them. (They're not cheap though, so you could try other treats too, like half grapes, raisins, sweetcorn etc to ring the changes ).
Olly
I don't think you can overfeed them, for the reason ANH has given above. I make a pot last at least a month, but that's because I am really stingy with them I only use them as a bribe to get my girls back into the run. I literally drop them one at a time on to the ground, to lure them back, and then fling a handful down inside the run, to watch them stampede. Gives me lots of time to close the door and secure it! If I emptied the pot into the run, they would eat the lot in one go. It's best to save treats for the end of the day, to make sure they are filling up first on the mash or pellets, but I don't think they will do any harm otherwise.
