Does anyone ever give their birds peanuts and is it safe to do so??? As ever your comments and advise greatly appreciated. Ain't Nobody Here Posted March 15, 2008 Share Posted March 15, 2008 Hello, I seem to remember reading on here that peanuts are too high in fat for chickens so avoid them (or use very sparingly). Peanuts are good for wild birds that fly a lot and roost outdoors, thus needing lots of energy, but chickens do neither and will just get fat if they have more than a few.
