Ain't Nobody Here
Milly, my Rhode Island Red, lays mid-brown eggs like this (the darkest shade): As for sizes, her average size is about 70g (but she laid a whopper 93g this morning ). She has laid for 34 days without a break up to today .

Ain't Nobody Here
Freddie, a forum member, makes them along with her husband. Look at page 9 of * this post *. You can PM her if you want to order one. Our green egg layer is Maisie, who's a Columbine (Cream Legbar hybrid). This is her:

meezers
Hi Debbie, just to confuse matters ( ) Margot ( my R.I.R ) lays eggs very similar to the pic you posted, they are a reasonable size - small/medium and I'd best describe them as beige with a very slight pinky tint - they are also shiny, though that might just be margot ! They certainly aren't as dark as the ones ANH posted, though I'm sure there's alot of variation in colour within the breed.

The "smaller blue eggs" are actually green, it's just that the "greener one" is the 93g freak egg (named by my boys ) - her eggs all used to be that olivey green colour but are all the paler bluey green colour now (which I much prefer ). chickenanne
Apparantly the reason egg shells change colour is that the pigment gradually "runs down". usually they stop laying for a bit, eg, when moulting or whatever, and then you'll be back to "full strength colour" again (assuming there's nothing missing from the diet). Doesn't help you tell whose laying, but I think it's really interesting anyway!
