farrowy
Have just noticed that when I scatter treats for my girls and Henry t cockerel he will pick up a piece of the sweetcorn/pasta and hold it in his beak and make a loud sharp bokking noise until one of the girls comes and takes it from him. Sometimes when he finds a tasty treat he will also pick it up and throw it down for one of the girls. What a gentleman!!!!

Eyren
Chicken blokes seem to be a lot nicer than their duck counterparts (mallard drakes are particularly inclined to "bother" anything with a pulse - or even without ). It was particularly touching to hear about the cockerels found during battery rescues, and how they are always really thin because they let the girls eat first
Treekeeper
There is an ulterior motive though 'cos when they bend down to pick up the corn or worm he's found then they are in the ideal position for a cockerel to do what a cockledoodle doo
