Omletina Kyckling
Hello all, I've managed to burn something onto the bottom of my iron, I tried to iron a label on a linen top and the label was obviously man made and it's now all burnt - I tried wiping it etc but it doesn't want to come off, other than on hubby's best collars etc. Anybody got any good home remedies for removing it, before I start to wield the scouring pad! Thanks!

superjules
Turn it up to the highest temp, then iron an old cotton tea towel. I got melted polyester ribbon stuck to the bottom of my iron after OH left the iron on the "max-pants" setting and then I went to iron on DDs karate tag onto her belt. The above method got rid of the residue, although I should have left it on there for him to get all over his work shirts to teach him a lesson! Blackrocksrock
I seem to remember soap to clean the bottom and then iron it off. I use a polti steamer iron so it doesn t get that hot anymore - just uses hot steam.
