argent13uk
We got an EGG!!!!!!! After thinking that my chickens were infertile I went to clean out the coop this afternoon and found a present in thier nesting box! http://pets.webshots.com/photo/2827138960032074134SrlAqE How do we know which one laid it? Its got little white specks on it and it weighs 56g (is that good?) I am very pleased! My 3 year old daughter is napping and hasn't found out yet - hope she is more excited than my youngest looks in this photo! http://pets.webshots.com/photo/2677644780032074134SyPavr Tiffany

Eggy-Bread
Congratulations ! It's an eggciting moment isn't it? Over a year on since I got my chooks and I still get a thrill from finding 'teggies' (as they're known in my family), everyday. Enjoy! Ain't Nobody Here
Congratulations . That's a perfectly respectable size (they'll probably get bigger over time ). Love the picture - overjoyed and underwhelmed .

superjules
Congratulations! That's a great size for a first egg! Magpie is laying 42g efforts - not much bigger than Bossy the bantam (38g) - despite being twice Bossy's size! I'm a bit actually! I've never eaten a "1st egg", the kids always get that priviledge - a mother's sacrifices eh?!
layla
Yay they'll be plenty more ........congrats
Hen Watch
Congrats on the first egg. My first egg from my Omlet girls was 50g. Gradually got bigger and now the average is 75/80g. But yesterday one of the squeezed out a 101g egg - I think one of them thinks she's an Ostrich - but not sure which one.
Cazz
if your chooks are all the same colour you'll have to just watch them to find out who it is laying, if theyre not then you can look at where their ears are and the little tuff of hair determines what colour egg they'll lay

That qualifies for the Omlet Egg Leader Board . I'm away for a couple of days but will try to remember to enter it onto the board when I get back! I think my chook (whichever one it was) will just s"Ooops, word censored!"e in at the bottom of the board. Can't beleive the sizes of the some of the eggs you've got on there.....!!!!!
