Can anyone please tell me whether the mark 2 roosting bars will fit into a mark 1 eglu?

 

I've just acquired a Mk1 & want to get some new roosting bars but all the individual bits look rather fiddly so would prefer the Mk2 if possible!

I know the mark one has separate roosting bars and separate slots for them to fit in, so it seems unlikely that the mark 2 bars would fit.

 

I'm sure someone on here has both.

Judging by the pictures here it doesn't look like they fit.

No........you can't use mk2 bars in a mk1, the mk2 is wider and the roosting bars spaces are slightly different.

 

the mk1 bars are not too fiddly once you get used to them and Omlet sell spare sets

Yes, I know they sell spare sets but I would have preferred the Mk2 set.

No...they are different and won't fit.

 

I daresay if you were handy with a saw and a staple gun you could rig something up though.

 

It is only a few moments extra work to clean the Mark 1 bars though.

If they both fitted Omlet would not be selling spare sets for mk 1 and mk 2 - they would just sell the latest version, so it is definately a no.
