That's what annoys me We're off to France in August and had to check our passports, mine expires next March, so in theory I will need to renew it as soon as I get back?

glad it's sorted.

i was going to offer that we went to mainland Spain last October & found out a few days before we travelled that my parent's , who were coming with us, passports expired Dec 07

i phoned the Spanish Embassy in London & was told ( by a Spanish bloke)

"If it's valid you can travel"

I had to get him repeat it as I needed to make sure that the info was correct. I'm sure he was doing this on the end of the phone
