Neighbour making formal noise complaint.

Planning on giving the cube/patio thorough clean on the coming weekend - have had the girls just over three weeks, so it is getting a bit smelly.

 

I do brush down the roosting bars/trays every day and rake the bark chippings but thought I would empty everything and put BOILING water on the patio before leting it dry in the sun(IF we get any) before getting fresh hemcore on.

 

Do you think I could risk a bit of boiling water actually in the eglu itself - not gallons, but enough to get into all the internal corners without making anything buckle/melt?

I'm not sure that I'd risk it thb.

 

A good scrub with some Ecover washing up liquid and hot water has always been more than enough, I've found.

i have used a kettle full to wash down the nesting box occasionally and it has been fine

Hm, I've used the steam cleaner on mine with good effect, although it is easier to just use a bowl of hot water and ecover. I would've thought that boiling water would be cooler than steam by the time it gets to the eglu!

I put my grub on a 65 degree wash in the dishwasher the other day and the plastic at the top looks a little worse for wear so I won't be doing it at that temperature again

I've used the steam cleaner on mine and had no problems. I'd have thought boiling water would be ok in small quantities. It will cool off pretty quickly anyway.
