buffie
Would like to know your easter habits. Colouring eggs with natural colouring anybody? and how long does one cook a bantam egg since they weigh only about 25 gr. do you boil them a good 8-10 minutes or less? Advice and stories please. Well I have my first Pekin eggs and they weigh about 33gms (is that big no wonder she had probs!) Anyway I have no idea about time, I'd be interested too. We just enjoy the holiday and don't do much easter stuff, no children just feather and fur to entertain! I did get a lovely hand made egg from clients yestedray, really lovely! AnnieP
Now I am feeling very guilty. I do NOTHING for easter, no cards, no presents, no chocolate. Our Easter Bank holiday is always spent doing 4 days of gardening. Bliss! We haven't even touched the garden or paddocks yet (4 acres) This because of all the work we are doing on the house, but boy does the grass need cutting and things need tidying away. After 6 months of neglect and builders, its a horrible mess! Anybody fancy a working party? Easter Donkey rides can be arranged

Swiss Chick
Wow Kaz lovely eggs and can I come too with my family that would solve my easter lunch dilemma. Never really like to spend hours in the kitchen but since my sister slaves on x-mas (well she doen't have kids) I am expected to produce something special
Martin B
Me and my brother have just made some chocholate eggs. We melted chocholate, covered egg cups with tin foil and then coated the chocholate inside!
kazaddress
tip for easter dinner.. get a roasting tin, plonk in the lamb, rosemary, garlic and 1 or 2 bottles of white wine and leave cooking very very sloweley in the oven while you sort out everything else out! (on about 80C) get the kids to help by making lots of easy cakes (jam tarts / scones / fairy cakes) you can then lay out the cakes, onthe table with lots of cream and hot cross buns, and it makes a spectacular spread... also.. do you have any fabric?? cut little squares and fill with 4/5 mini eggs, and tie up with ribbon.. it makes a lovely personal table setting. Cate in NZ
You all sound so industrious... I feel quite ashamed of my laziness. Nothing planned for Easter yet, well, not really. My children really aren't too fussed about chocolate, they prefer cold hard cash..... so that's what they'll get Daughter and I went veggie for Lent, we actually enjoyed it and discovered some fabulous new recipes, so there's a good chance that we'll remai on minimal meat from now on in. Daughter actually wants to remain veggie, but has agreed to have duck for Easter Sunday, bought from a traceable source etc.... so the ducks had a happy, free life, I believe. MIL is coming, possibly little sis & I'm not sure about neice & nephew, possibles depending on their fathers plans My Easter pressie.... well, it's on hold, I'm not a great fan of chocolate really, so chocolate Easter eggs are a bit unwelcome, so hubby's promised me something that lays eggs instead..... a Sapphire & a Tri-Comet on order, but probably not arriving until July

(on about 80C) my easter dinner tip get a roasting tin, plonk in the lamb, rosemary, garlic and 1 glass of white wine and leave cooking very very sloweley in the oven while you finish off the other 6 bottles in the fridge! Even if the lamb is over done - who cares!!!!
