Ziggy
I'm thinking I really should take up boxing... need a way to let steam off... We are having works done, and a few weeks ago did some travelling several weekends in a row, so I've spent most of the last month and a half sorting all kinds of things, packing, organising, unpacking, chasing all kinds of stuff for the builders (nothing ever seems to be done or communicated without some level of mistake, which I then have to try and sort with various people who never answer their phone but insist on talking to you when you are out and driving or rushing)... my usual chores are way behind (we have no clothes left.... laundry is done but never makes it back to the wardrobes... every morning is a scramble through washing basket trying to find the right things for everyone)... the house is a mess, and no matter what I plan to do, something interferes... DH (who's not so 'D' at the moment) just landed from Singapore this morning, to disappear again one hour later, not even taking a look at the works done so far, leaving me home to wait for the delivery of some of the works materials, so I can't go anywhere, and I really need to be out there chosing paints for the kitchen, cause after doing several stores for sample pots, the ones I got aren't right, so need to do that again, as the person who's going to do the painting is waiting to know what paint to purchase... also BADLY need to go out to get some stuff for DD1 who's off on PGL trip very soon, and has to bring '3 pairs of old trainers' (each pair being assigned to a different level of wetness in the activities)... well DD1 doesn't have 'old' trainers (her old trainers are all too small, she went up 2 shoe sizes in a few months), so need to get some cheap footwear for her for the trip... she also doesn't have '4 old pairs of jogging bottoms' for the reason that she doesn't wear them, and if they were old, again she'd have grown out of them by now (badly timed growth spurt)... I have a list of things I need to get for her, but the shops for that are obviously nowhere near the diy shops for the paints... DD4 has a cold and is in a foul mood... I need clones... 3 of them... one to stay here to keep eye on all the works and wait for deliveries, one to go PGL shopping, one to go paint shopping, while I look after DD4... 'Not-so-DH' promised yesterday to stay home for a little while to help, thought maybe he could work from home for a couple of hours while I rushed out on some of the errands but obviously he shot off after shower and breakfast (he says he stayed for an hour... doesn't count if he's in shower and having breakfast, does it?? - I still haven't had my breakfast come to think of it) Being stuck home, I thought I'd clean the chooks, put their legrings on, and do the planting that I have to do, but obviously now it's raining buckets... I can obviously catch up a bit on chores, but not easy with DD4 being so cranky, at least in the garden she'd enjoy playing/helping, and the paint and pgl stuff is more urgent than the laundry... Sorry for going on and on.... I wish for a punching bag, 3 clones, and a desert island a few thousand miles away...
Helen&Lee
Well I sure know where you are coming from - I think of life at the moment as a load of juggling balls in the air that I really am struggling to keep up We have our own business that we seem to be doing a fair few 12 -13hr physical days at - with customers ordering at the last moment with a 'can you do it for the weekend' site agents doing their diva act wanting it tomorrow, and I'm helping in the workshop, keeping on top of the office and acccounts and dealing with the customers etc Than there are 2 dogs that need sorting out, the chooks bless them, the house which has a depressing layer of grime and the garden that looks like a jungle I'm desperate for a supermarket shop, but living out in the sticks that alone amounts to a two hour round trip And my OH (definately not a DH) seems oblivious to most of it I've hardly posted on here recently, I just grab a few minutes to have a quick read.... Thank goodness I don't have kids, I really don't know how they would fit in to life as it is now Helen
Ziggy
Oh Helen, thanks for reminding me... supermarket... knew I was forgetting something!!! We're running out of everything!! At least as I order the groceries online, I can do it now while waiting for blooming deliveries! Hey, ranting helps, it reminded me of something I'd forgotten Thanks again ... Your work seems like quite a handfull (or should I say a few handfulls too many) too...
chickencam
I feel for you, life is like that sometimes. sending you a restorative ((hug)) and a nice hot cuppa I am lucky to have a supportive husband, but he also expects miracles from me sometimes. I work from home for him, as well as keeping up with the house, garden allotment and kids, he does help though As for Pgl I bought aquashoes for mine when they went which is what they used in the water and cheap trainers for the muddy bits. ED went in a heatwave and DS went in a mudbath they both had a fab time. Charity shops and car boots are a good source of clothing for the trip
The Dogmother
Sorry to hear about all your hassles Ziggy; my job today seems plain sailing compared with your troubles. I hope that you get it sorted out soon - it's so stressful running around in circles like that, not to mention frustrating. (((HUG)))
Egluntyne
Sounds as if there is never a dull moment at your house Ziggy. Sometimes everything just seems to happen all at once, and occasionally it can get a bit overwhelming. Sorry DD4 is not well.
